KIMBERLY-CLARK OFFERS KLEENGUARD® COVERALLS
WITH MICROFORCE* ENHANCED BARRIER SMS FABRIC

ALPHARETTA, Ga. (September 24, 2001) — Kimberly-Clark’s Safety Division offers its KLEENGUARD® Select and KLEENGUARD® Extra Apparel with a patented fabric treatment designed to provide greater hold-out of fine dusts and particles.

The garments, which are marketed as KLEENGUARD® Coveralls with MICROFORCE* Enhanced Barrier SMS Fabric, are ideal for environments such as tire manufacturing and other settings in which fine dusts such as carbon black are an issue. Testing shows that the fabric treatment significantly improves filtration rates for particles as small as 0.26 micrometers compared with competitive SMS (spunbond-meltblown-spunbond) fabrics and TYVEK® Fabric.

KLEENGUARD® Coveralls with MICROFORCE* Enhanced Barrier SMS Fabric also feature an anti-static treatment that dissipates static, making the garments ideal for use in utility operations and field work and in other settings where static is a problem.

KLEENGUARD® SMS Apparel Fabrics feature outer layers made of a cloth-like, yet tough and abrasion-resistant spunbond polypropylene. The middle layer is made of an intricate web of microfibers that filters out many water-based liquids and dry particulates.

KLEENGUARD® Coveralls with MICROFORCE* Enhanced Barrier SMS Fabric are available in white and denim blue. Garments and accessories include coveralls, aprons, labcoats, smocks, shirts, pants, hoods, boot covers, shoe covers, sleeve protectors and briefs. The coveralls are constructed with Kimberly-Clark’s patented REFLEX® Coverall Design, which provides a better fit and fewer rip-outs than the typical ANSI standard design.
